Another book on how the Internet has revolutionized the way we work and do business? Yes, but with a plus. Rather than focusing on the Internet as a tool, the authors look at how the Worldwide Web has changed the behavior and mindset of companies, customers and the public in general. They say that today’s watchword is “collaboration,” a term which they naturally illustrate with the collaborative online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, but also with less well-known successes achieved by companies such as BMW and Lego. Although the book occasionally stumbles into the traps of circular reasoning and idealistic conjecture, it offers an abundance of concrete recommendations on how to take advantage of this type of collaboration and make it a key driver of growth.
