How to transform the enterprise into a place that carries meaning and motivating projects? Studies show that large enterprises, most notably, have tended to inspire some defiance in the past few years. They are often considered as a dehumanized place that causes stress or even ill-being rather than enthusiasm. There is however a strong demand for organizations in which to personally invest. How to give back meaning to work, pride of belonging and the desire to combine personal objectives with the enterprise’s collective mission? In the author’s view, enterprises must focus more on what makes their culture specific and dare claim their difference—and must shape their distinctiveness while taking into consideration the new challenges they are facing: emergence of the Millennials, teleworking, e-reputation at stake, etc. A small essay that shares some studies’ challenging outcomes, notably on the young generation’s desire to get involved in projects and their skepticism as to the ability of enterprises to give them this opportunity. It gives us the desire to act and to better underscore our enterprise personality.
