On the automotive market, consumers increasingly demand connected solutions, such as traffic information in real time, identification of free parking nearby, etc. Developing such applications consequently offers enormous potential. But to capitalize on it fully, equipment suppliers must find a way to position themselves quickly and on a large scale. According to the authors of this report, equipment suppliers could benefit by pooling resources—even though they are competitors—to collect the greatest amount of data possible to feed these services, while continuing to compete on user interface design.
