Our working environments are more and more uncertain, complex, changing, which can put our mental health to quite the test. How can we adapt to this new context, and even thrive in it? To answer this question, Gabriella Rosen Kellerman, Chief Innovation Officer of the BetterUp coaching platform, and Martin Seligman, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania and the founder of positive psychology, have highlighted the key competencies to be developed—among them resilience, found in chapter 4 of the work. According to a study they carried out with thousands of employees in a context where resilience was sorely tested—the Covid-19 crisis—, it can be enhanced by acting on a few fundamental capacities such as optimism, cognitive agility and the ability to regulate emotions. The authors propose some exercises and practices allowing us to develop these capacities over time, in order to better live through the challenges ahead.
