Manageris opinion
Observing the most innovative people, it seems that one of the keys to their creativity is their capacity to correctly formulate questions to themselves. Indeed, there is a strong correlation between a good question and a good response. According to the author, when we feel trapped in a problem, a good way to get out of it is to ask ourselves many questions!
Hal Gregersen manages MIT Leadership Center. Convinced of the power of questions, he wonders in this book while we do not use more the tool that good questioning represents. Indeed, since the Internet provides pretty much all imaginable responses, we distinguish ourselves more by our capacity to ask questions than by our capacity to answer them! The author notably analyzes what are the breaks to questioning within business organizations, and proposes a range of means to overcome these obstacles: techniques, daily habits, management practices, postures to promote, etc.
This book is informative and geared towards action, addressing a generally underestimated challenge.
