The author invites us to seek inspiration from professionals used to high levels of stress. Along their career, artists, sport coaches, surgeons, military personnel, etc., have developed conditioning techniques to face high-stake situations in an optimal psychological state. Why not borrow some of those techniques to prepare yourself to a negotiation, an appointment or a work session? The book presents many examples, and also highlights the recent findings of cognitive sciences. It thus describes numerous experiences that demonstrate the effectiveness of small preparation rituals to optimize our concentration and the mobilization of our intellectual capabilities. The book does not provide universal recommendations, but invites everyone to choose, test and apply the techniques that will work best for him/her.
