Manageris opinion
This book is structured around fourteen questions which the author – a recognized expert on the topic – encourages boards to ask themselves in today’s troubled economy. While underlining current topics such as organizational agility and risk management, he also reviews a number of the fundamental principles that keep this key management body operating smoothly. He thus covers several topics addressed in his previous books, but builds upon them with new examples of best practices. The result is an effective, well-constructed book enabling managers to focus rapidly on their specific areas of concern, particularly given the author’s courtesy of dedicating each chapter – 15 pages on average – to a specific topic, e.g., board composition, risk management, leadership succession, access to information, strategy formulation, management team compensation, shareholder relations, etc.
