Making Diversity Work

This enjoyable and easy-to-read book is an excellent handbook on how to capitalize on diversity. The pragmatic approach adopted by the author is what makes this book original. She starts with mostly real-life experiences to demonstrate the omnipresence of prejudices. Then, rather than presenting these prejudices as an unavoidable plague, she encourages readers to think hard about their own prejudices. Enlightened introspection not only prevents these prejudices from hurting others, but also from hurting company performance. Chapters 3 to 9 offer a methodical approach to accomplish this. Readers will also find many useful tips on skills to develop to communicate more effectively in a context of diversity (chapter 12).
