There are many books dealing with well-being at work. Annie McKee nonetheless manages to propose new patterns of thought around this theme. According to her, well-being at work feeds on three essential ingredients: finding meaning in what we do, being optimistic and creating real bonds of friendship at work. After two introductory chapters dedicated to the importance of well-being and happiness at work, Annie McKee develops these notions?meaning, hope and friendship?in three distinct chapters. She demonstrates how our motivation derives from our vision of things, from our state of mind and from our rapport with others?whatever our function or our position in the company. The last two chapters propose concrete advice on how to act, on ourselves or on our colleagues, for example by setting up a culture of benevolence in our team.
How to Be Happy at Work is an interesting book for any manager who wishes to use happiness at work as an impetus to motivation, both for him/herself and for others.
