[HappyNeuron: the cerebral practice method]
Cognitive abilities can be practiced just like physical abilities. Thanks to recent neuroscience discoveries, we now know that the brain continues to evolve throughout life. If it is not sufficiently solicited, it starts atrophying and memory capabilities start decreasing with age. On the contrary, if correctly stimulated, it can regenerate, and even further develop, almost infinitely.
This book is thus designed as a cycle of exercises for the brain. It is structured in twelve programs that enable the stimulation of the various cognitive functions, including memory. While centered on practice, the book also highlights the scientific founding behind these exercises. As an introduction to each of the programs, a short text presents the current knowledge on the cognitive capability practiced. In a simple yet rigorous language, it describes how, for example, memory and language operate from a biological perspective. Some “neurologist notes” spread throughout the book complement these theoretical explanations.
A both playful and serious book.
