The transfer of knowledge is an essential driver of company performance. Enabling an organization to capitalize on locally acquired experience and knowhow is invaluable. However, broadly disseminating know-how drawn from experience turns out to be much more difficult in practice than merely transferring knowledge. In this very practical and enlightened book, Nancy M. Dixon stresses that the basic error is to set up a single system for transferring knowledge. For the author, five types of transfers must be distinguished, each of which requires a specific approach. From the nearby transfer to the serial transfer and the strategic transfer, chapter after chapter, she describes the essential principles to follow.
