Summary
Climate risks are already very real and will only get worse. While the threat was still considered as remote a few years ago, it has now taken a character of urgency. Whether at the level of the states, cities or businesses, it becomes imperative to react on two fronts: decarbonizing activities and adapting to new climate conditions. An increasing number of business organizations are engaging into this path, but the author suggests that they should go one step further, by clearly assuming a leadership posture. This can come in three forms: lobbying work at political level to encourage stricter regulations; support for their ecosystem (and notably their suppliers) to speed up the transition; adoption of new economic models and financial indicators.
